Report of the Digitalization Committee: Melanie

No further action needed at this time regarding CUTPL newspaper editions.

Antiquarian Society is currently working on copies obtained from the Pilot News.

September's expenses of $40,000 close to budget

unusual 3 pay periods

1st month of the new internet service, will be getting reimbursed

new laser printer and 4 wireless access points

Presentation and adoption of the proposed 2012 Budget

forms presented; the director will be presenting all forms to the Marshall Co. Auditor within 48 hours of signing

all forms will also be sent to Gateway

creating a long term building maintenance checklist and seeking local people for quotes

seeking a resolution to authorize the payment of membership dues for staff; Indiana Code provides for this; the director will work on a resolution

PERF vs Hoosier Start Plan for employee 401K

Polly Thompson Wolf talked about the Rita Lawson Science Fiction / Fantasy Collection, donation of $1620.00

Rita's daughter Abby has designed shelving to accommodate 3600 books

collection of figurines to be donated and used for display on top shelf

Rita's personal collection was donated, approx. 400 books

family would like children's SciFi integrated into this collection

Ironwood Shelving being considered, 12 doubled sided shelves, $6000.00 (including shipping)

motion to purchase shelving not to exceed $6,000 made by Melanie and seconded by Carol

book drop cover has been installed

Fall edition of CUTPL newsletter, Maxinkuckee Reed just published, available on our website and in print

5 staff members attending our computer classes for training

Policy Committee submitted the Long Range Plan, discussed at the September 2011 CUTPL Board meeting
