Regular Board Meeting February 18, 2014

motion to accept the presented policy for interlibrary loan for non-residents (reciprocal) borrowers made by Alfred and seconded by Tom


Director’s Report: Colleen McCarty

the annual report is completed, it is 45 pages long and is available for review will also be online in a few months

circ stats are close to last January, 4433, although we were closed for 3 snow days this Jan.

we received 129 Evergreen items and sent out 189; strong magazine circulation

Andrew is working on setting up system to track our Social Media usage

Evergreen 2.5 upgrade was completed this past weekend (Feb 14-15-16)

upgraded to two renewals for books

most changes are in cataloging

module will soon be available for online payment of fines and fees

One Book One County read will be in April, CUTPL will be presenting programs on Orphan Train by Christine Baker Kline: 4-19-14, will be a Saturday program for the public

top circulating items for 2013 presented

sponsors of the Winter Read contest were read aloud: Friends of the Library, Gail’s, Culver Coffee, Dairy Barn BP, Elizabeth’s Garden, Culver Academy museum & Gift Shop, TLC to the Max, Puter Pitstop, Papa’s, Lakehouse Grille, Evil Czech; 21 patrons participating

Head Start story times have resumed

high school book club meets every other week, they are reading The Maze Runner

23 students have joined; the Friends of the Library have purchased the books which the students keep

a very successful Family Block Party held 2-15-14

streaming video on OverDrive now available, presently most films are non-fiction but Polly is adding fiction; only resident card holders can use OverDrive service

Evergreen is discussing charging annual fees, probably effective in 2015: .5% of the budget

volunteer income tax assistance (VITA) available here on Wednesdays

suggest ad hoc centennial planning committee with staff, Trustees and Friends, asking for volunteers

a motion to raise the non-resident card fee from $140 to $150.00 by Tom and seconded by Alfred
