Place: Library Large Meeting Room

Members: Karen Boland, Bill Cleavenger, Tom Curtis, Alfred Nyby, Melanie Robertson, Rhonda Reinhold, Dianne Johnson

Attendance: Karen, Rhonda absent

Treasurer’s Report: Al Nyby

a motion to accept the Register of Claims for October 21, 2014 was made by Dianne and seconded by Tom

Facilities Maintenance Committee Report – Dianne

Snow Removal: 2 quotes

Sellers-bonded with insurance

motion by Bill for rebids with more clear definitions of services seconded by Alfred


Sail Removal: the committee recommends Parker Osborn of Osborn Construction

motion to accept the Osborn bid made by Dianne and seconded by Bill

Director’s Report: Colleen McCarty

Saturday December 6, 2014 has a has a full agenda of activities to kick off the yearlong Centennial

Celebration for CUTPL’s Carnegie Library; all Trustees are invited to attend

9:00 am Children’s program at Miller’s Merry Manner with Santa at the library from 10-12:00

all day refreshments provided by the Friends and music by local individuals and Stage II Singers

40+ sponsors have contributed to the Carnegie Fund, to be posted soon

a Centennial seal has been designed by Friend Denise Burnham

a Memory Book for patrons/staff/Trustees to record their stories about the Library will be made available and we will unveil full-size and travel-size Flat Andy

June 6, 2015 will be our official Birthday Party

Stats continue to be very strong: October ’14 circ is +617 over October ’13.

the trough drain and the downspout lines in the Main St. Courtyard have been cleaned by Mr. Zehner

Sean Doty will begin working 10 hour a week as an employee in the position of maintenance technician

the shutters have been installed in the tech services area to separate it from the Carnegie meeting room

Andrew Baker has completed the upgrade on the email server, which has saved us thousands of dollars;

a web server upgrade will be next

patron services survey-14 respondents thus far

Park Board: Rhonda Reinhold, none

Unfinished Business:

Bill Cleavenger recommends the library purchase an automated external defibrillator (AED)

probable cost $1600.00+

use of unit will give time for professionals to attend the patient

the director suggests Bill attend the Dec 1st for a presentation for the Friends, as a possible source of purchase

there is a need for posting an ad for bids for the cleaning service for the library

New Business:

Alfred Nyby has submitted his resignation from the Board effective January 1, 2015

he was an Union Twp. appointee

highly praised for his many contributions to the CUTPL
