IN the Public Trust excerpt - review pp 53-59 "Library Budget and Finance"

each year a new calendar is issued by the Dept. of Local Govt. Finance with timelines for the advertisement and adoption procedures required by statute

glossary of finance terms is included.

Policy Manual - new policy that provides for public comment at Board meetings

motion made by Tom to accept this provision and seconded by Karen


Collection Development Policy needs to be revised to include the Library Bill of Rights

motion to accept by Karen and seconded by Bill


a motion was made to establish a Fund-Raising Committee for CUTPL by Rhonda seconded by Paul


proposal that on Tuesday May 19, the library will be closed from 1:00 - 5:00, so staff and board members can attend an in-service workshop presented by a state library representative on intellectual freedom and best building and ground security practices in the public library

Karen moved to accept this proposal, Tom seconded it


Paul moved to change the Board's regular meeting time on May 19 from 7:00pm to 6:00 pm, seconded by Karen


Director's Report: Colleen McCarty

request to apply for an E-rate allowance from the federal government for internal connections and services to increase broadband connectivity

At this time, 2 billion federal dollars are available. CUTPL is eligible for approximately $35,000 over the next 5 years

motion was made by Rhonda and seconded by Karen to apply for the E-Rate moneys for the wireless service upgrade


the Spring 2015 edition of the Maxinkuckee Reed is now available

a quick review of the events scheduled for the Carnegie Centennial Birthday Party on June 6

Wednesday volunteer income tax assistance (VITA) well attended

STATS increase in circ, visitors and wireless use comparing February 2014 to Feb. 2015

interior lighting has been installed and exterior should be done by end of month

motivation and philosophy of the man

1679 Carnegie libraries in the USA

164 Carnegie libraries were built in Indiana-more than in any other state

unique for his time because his donations were made while he was still alive; motivated to help those who desire to improve themselves
