Regular Board Meeting November 17, 2015

Time: 7:00 pm – 8:15 pm

Treasurer’s Report: Bill

Review & Approval of the October 2015 Register of Claims

motion to accept by Bill and seconded by Tom


Finance Committee: Colleen reported the committee met, with Alfred Nyby present

the 2016 working budget will be finalized in January

the committee meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month

Policy Committee: Colleen

IN the Public Trust excerpt--review Chapter 15—Library Organizations pp 91-93

final chapter to be reviewed

material presented for board members to consider: attending IN Library Federation meetings

next board meeting, it is recommended that 15-20 minutes be allowed for the discussion and

presentation of a Trustees template for Long–Range Planning process

our District IN State Library consultant will facilitate this LRP process with us in 2016

Director’s Report: Colleen

Karen Boland was reappointed to the Board for a four year term

Saturday, Nov 7 was a very successful children’s program:

Music, Movement, and Play program, with two CMA students helping; 43 attended

Stage II, adults singers performed at noon

Saturday, Dec 5 will be Holiday Open House and closing ceremonies for the Centennial Celebration

Jill and families will visit Millers and read a story and sing carols for residents

Santa will be here

cash prizes for the winners of the middle school age essay contest will be awarded from the Carnegie Fund

"Pages of History" -- the first 100 years of CUTPL" PowerPoint by Jeff Kenny

Stage II, adult singers will perform again;

FOL will have a book sale, and serve light refreshments

installation of screens and projectors, purchased with MCCF Grant, have been completed in the small purple room and the Carnegie room

a copy of the 2014 Indiana Public Libraries Annual Report booklet was passed around

Park Board: none

Unfinished Business:

1 year snow and ice removal contract bids: FHD and Sellers

it was moved by Tom and seconded by Flannery to accept Sellers


1 year cleaning service contract bids: Culver Cleaning; Honey’s Busy Bees Cleaning;

Green Cleaning (LLC in 2016)

it was moved by Tom and seconded by Bill to accept Green Cleaning


stove for staff, electric preferred; need to seek bids on the stove and the wiring

New Business:

Bill moved to offer CPR training & certification for library managers, Paul seconded


FOL will purchase the AED, training will be forthcoming
