Sophia George, student liaison to the Board, introduced

Pam Noble, new president of Friends of the Library, could not attend meeting due to accident

Secretary Report: written minutes presented

Treasurer's Report:

Review & Approve September 2017 Allowance of Accounts Payable Vouchers

Facilities Committee

HVAC systems: Colleen update on IMEG. Architectural CAD drawings obtained from MKM who did the addition originally. IMEG reviewing those, working on final design. Could have bid documents to contractors before holidays. We will be given chance to review beforehand, most likely before Thanksgiving.

Reheat coils, modification of vent on North side of the building, design of new control system

Carpets cleaned downstairs by Pratt's. Will clean upstairs carpets next Sunday.

"Internet Use Policy"

Only change to Wireless Use Policy - had to change to make the verbiage agree with the Internet Use Policy. Otherwise all remains the same. Also made mention that our wireless is content filtered.

Director's Report: Colleen McCarty

Volunteer hours for September: 13 hours in Children's and Adult Reference Services

FOL Week: Staff is giving luncheon for the Friends, 10/18/17, the Board members are invited

Friends have their new book shop: Your Friendly Book Shoppe. Open every Saturday at least through end of the year.

CGA Students assisted in Fall Festival Program - Fun Science experiment. Sophia and Valerie. Around 40 kids in attendance.

Program of the Month: Genealogy Workshop: Building on the Basics, October 28th

Janet moved Indiana collection from upstairs to down in the lab where she can feature the books and circulate them. She is liaison and building relationship with local museums and other libraries.

IRS - No penalties for late filing/payments; IN also did not make us pay penalties. We are up to date and paying on time.

Unfinished Business:

Coding Club: Bill spoke with a young man, who said he was the only one along with one other young man in attendance at the Club. Culver Academies is providing volunteers to run the club, Caren Standfast adviser (math instructor). We're not members yet, so not using programs yet. Trying to involve public school more. Courtney Lambert from TechPoint Youth in Indy is coming up to meet with Esme and Caren to talk about programs.

No cost associated with this club in Indy.

New Business:

November Board Meeting Date: scheduled for two days before Thanksgiving.
