The Library of Congress' Veterans History Project will present "Courage, Patriotism, and Community" on Memorial Day, May 26, 2003, including the first of many stories not before presented, written by Veteran's of America's wars.
Included in "Courage, Patriotism, and Community" is the memoir of one of Culver's own, Jim Walsh. Entitled "A G.I. Machine Gunner, from the Seminary to Korea's Front Line 1951-1952," which will include not only Mr. Walsh's story, but photos of many of the men who served with him.
Mr. Walsh, who with his wife, Jo Ann, settled in the Culver area in 1987, was featured in the Spring 2001 Issue of Notre Dame Magazine as well as the October, 2001 issue of Military History Magazine.
